A very desirable London suburb Beckenham has maintained its identity as a town in its own right despite being a part of Greater London. The town of Beckenham has a well defined shopping street and is well catered for in terms of leisure facilities with parks, recreation grounds and a cinema as well as other leisure facilities.
This makes it an ideal location for families moving out of the more central London areas looking for a greener and quieter life. As Locksmiths we certainly get our fair share of callouts for families that have got themselves locked out or broken their patio upvc door locks or window locks. In fact it’s surprising how often these fail in normal use.
Geographically Beckenham is well located near Bromley and Croydon and is within easy reach of London’s orbital road the famous M25.
As well as the many bus routes to Bromley, Catford, Chislehurst, Croydon, Crystal Palace, Eltham, Lewisham, Orpington, Penge, West Wickham and Woolwich, Beckenham is linked by Tram to Wimbledon and and train to central London Victora or London Bridge. Which makes it ideal as a commuter town for workers from the city. Not surprising then that Beckenham has a population of over 80,000..lets hope they don’t all need their locks repaired at once!
Beckenham has lots of local sports clubs including Rugby, Cricket, Hockey and Tennis but no famous league teams at the moment.
There are quite a few famous people associated with Beckenham, although none of these have required any expert locksmith services having moved on long since.
John Major – Ex British Prime Minister
David Bowie – World Famous Musician
Enid Blyton – British Children’s Author
Quite an illustrious crowd I’m guessing John Major had some pretty high end locks when he was a resident. So when you need the nearest locksmith to me or a locksmith near me do go ahead and call SJ Locksmiths!
